Launching the Green Industrial Revolution

Labour Party UK

The Labour Party's Community Organising Unit tasked us to help them create an identity and digital assets for their organising work and in particular building their organising efforts for a Green Industrial Revolution.

The Challenge

The Labour Party’s newly established Community Organising Unit has already developed thousands of leaders across marginal seats. The challenge was how to bring all this work to life through national content to scale the work and create a friendly context for leaders and organisers on the ground with a brand that could tie content together.

How we did it

We drew on the tradition of labour and union design into a fresh style. The branding is designed to reflect the sense of the work of the organisers: insurgent, vibrant and dynamic. The colours, type and visual elements all evoke that passion, positivity and purpose.

We organised an event in Blackpool to trial the new branding and capture footage for the website and digital channels. People attended a barnstorm on the Green Industrial Revolution, a flagship policy in the Labour Party manifesto. Every facet of the event, from the stickers people were wearing to the banners in the hall, was designed using the powerful new brand.

Outcomes

The By The Many brand was a hallmark of the Labour Party’s community-based organising during the 2019 General election. The visual focus on vibrant groups of people, doorknocking in their towns and canvassing on their high streets, showed us what democratic and community power in this country means and looks like.
